Scrumconnect Consulting is proud to announce our partnership with Aire Logic on two transformative contracts with the Department for Education (DfE). Together, we are set to deliver over £19 million worth of projects aimed at modernising schools and improving education services across the UK, aligning with the Government’s £1.4 billion commitment to education sector investment.
Supporting the DfE’s Digital Maturity Journey
The first contract, valued at £16.25 million, focuses on enhancing digital maturity within the DfE’s Operations Infrastructure Group (OIG). Our team will work alongside Aire Logic and OIG’s in-house software developers, testers, architects, and DevOps teams to design, build, and operate intuitive digital services.
This project is a major step toward enabling schools and education authorities to better access DfE’s support, focusing on the following key areas:
- Get Help Buying for Schools: Streamlining procurement processes to help schools acquire non-staff goods and services more effectively.
- Schools Technology Services: Assisting schools in developing the capabilities, strategies, and solutions they need to adopt digital technology securely and effectively.
- Schools Account: Creating a digital hub to alleviate administrative burdens for school leaders and business professionals, offering easy access to DfE services and information.
- Sustainability and Education Estates Digital Services: Supporting schools in submitting funding applications for infrastructure renovations within large-scale construction programmes.
Revolutionising Data Sharing and Decision-Making
The second contract, worth £3.1 million, involves the Modernising our Reporting Environment (MORE) programme, led by the DfE’s Advanced Analytics Division. This initiative focuses on improving data sharing between educational institutions, enabling more efficient operations and evidence-based decision-making.
Scrumconnect Consulting’s contributions to this programme include:
- Cloud Migration: Transitioning the Further Education Data Warehouse and View Your Education Data (VYED) infrastructure to Microsoft Azure for better scalability and efficiency.
- Enhancing VYED Tools: Modernising the VYED download tool to ensure optimal performance on Azure.
- Building a Self-Service Data Query Tool: Developing a brand-new solution to enable education professionals to retrieve and analyse data directly from the Further Education Data Warehouse, tailored to their unique needs.
